Christmas in the Sitting Room

Wow, thirteen days until Christmas. Time really does fly especially when you’re having fun.  I have been truly blessed this Christmas season to enjoy my own little cottage. This is the first time ever for me and it’s been really fun to dream up just about anything I want to do to it as long as it doesn’t cost much.

I have hosted a couple of Christmas parties this year and it has been fun to share my home with friends and loved one. One of the Christmas trees only got knocked down once so I thought that I was doing pretty good with sharing such a small home with others.

Good morning! It is a glorious morning here, the sun has just risen over the mountains and it is sparkling on the new fallen snow. It looks like a pretty Christmas card. I have so much to show you and instead of one very long post I have broken it down into several. Here is the link to my first Christmas post.  A Christmas Welcome.

Today I want to share with you my Christmas Tree and tell you about the ornaments that I have made for it. I have spent very little money on my Christmas decor this year and that’s what my blog is all about. Having a beautifully decorated home for pennies.  As I said in my last post I have chosen blue and red for my holiday colors. I always like to be different and try new things.

Shabby Chic Art

Welcome everyone.  I have been very busy with my art and design projects this summer. It’s a good thing that I have this to fill my time because I have been chopping at the bit to repaint some furniture and ready Shabby Lane Cottage for Fall.  I told myself that I had to wait a few weeks. It’s just still too hot outside and I don’t want people in my neighborhood to think I am crazy when I start hanging Fall wreaths on the front door! Alas, I have beautiful neighbors! Hi Susan and Kim! They know I can be little crazy at times.

Summer Decor Changes

This has been an amazingly beautiful summer. Living on the side of a beautiful mountain range in the  North Salt Lake (Bountiful) area is a wonderful place to be. I love having the change of the seasons. I think that is what is most appealing to me about living here.

Using Lavender in your Home Decor

I can’t believe that summer is almost here and that spring has gone by so quickly.  No matter the season though I will always be using lovely pastels in my Romantic Shabby Chic Country Style Cottage. Wow that’s a mouth full! lol  I started messing around with a new color that I have fallen head over heels in love with. I shared some of it on my last post and thought that I would share a little bit more of this fabulous color.
