. . . and to all a good night!

Well, Christmas is almost here! All of the decorating , food preparation and shopping  is about to pay off. For me it all helps to set the mood for celebrating the Saviors birth.

I just want to share with you the last two rooms of my home that are ready for Christmas. The master bedroom and the bathroom. All is calm in the bedroom. Sit back and enjoy!

Christmas in the Sitting Room

Wow, thirteen days until Christmas. Time really does fly especially when you’re having fun.  I have been truly blessed this Christmas season to enjoy my own little cottage. This is the first time ever for me and it’s been really fun to dream up just about anything I want to do to it as long as it doesn’t cost much.

I have hosted a couple of Christmas parties this year and it has been fun to share my home with friends and loved one. One of the Christmas trees only got knocked down once so I thought that I was doing pretty good with sharing such a small home with others.

Oh, Christmas Tree!

Good morning! It is a glorious morning here, the sun has just risen over the mountains and it is sparkling on the new fallen snow. It looks like a pretty Christmas card. I have so much to show you and instead of one very long post I have broken it down into several. Here is the link to my first Christmas post.  A Christmas Welcome.

Today I want to share with you my Christmas Tree and tell you about the ornaments that I have made for it. I have spent very little money on my Christmas decor this year and that’s what my blog is all about. Having a beautifully decorated home for pennies.  As I said in my last post I have chosen blue and red for my holiday colors. I always like to be different and try new things.

Christmas Welcome

I can’t believe that it has been 2 months since I have last blogged. Time sure does fly. I have had a great time decorating my cottage for the holidays. I really wanted something different in my new home so I spent several months remaking my Christmas decor to fit my cottage and my new-found happiness. It’s amazing what a little paint, glitter and glue can do to make a huge impact. So if you want a fresh new look for your home this holiday season for pennies read on . . .

My children’s old sled that was their fathers when he was small.

Welcome to Shabby Lane Cottage! The entrance to the cottage is a fun welcoming sight. I am totally a blue and white girl and I really embraced it this year for Christmas. Now, there is a color that I do not use very often in my decor and that is red, I have added touches of it through out my home this year. (It’s a long story why red is not one of my favorite colors)

Front Porch

Shades of blue and a touch of red welcome you to my home.

If there was a little snow it would make this front entrance so charming but I am not rushing the winter season. lol  Today’s post will be about decor for your doors that welcome visitors in.  Continue reading
