Part 4 of Shabby Lane Tour

Welcome dear friends! I hope that you are enjoying this beautiful Spring weather. I love the Easter season, it is such a time for renewal for me and being in this sweet cottage has really set a lot in motion for me.

As promised here is the final tour of my Shabby Lane Cottage. I hope that you enjoy it.

sitting room view

As you walk through the front door you find a large rectangular room with big picture windows.  I have divided this room into two rooms one for the sitting room and the other for my studio. The sitting room area was just perfect for my French Furniture, trunks, and bookcases. As you can see I made some sheer curtains in a tea stained fabric to cover the shelves. I did not like the cluttered look of the shelves with all of my books and because I am a bookworm they were necessary for me to have them.

living room

Ivory the cow took center stage in the room.

Putting the bookcases on either side of the dresser with the door and shutters behind gave it a look of an entertainment center. I was going to put my TV on top of the small trunk but miss butter fingers tipped it over and smashed it to pieces. Oh well, I was not found of that big black thing in the middle of my pretty sitting room anyway. lol

book case

It’s really funny because I bought these lovely lace curtains when I was in my basement apartment thinking that I could use them for other things than at my non existant windows. Then just two weeks later I hung them in Shabby Lane Cottage. I found them on eBay for $15.00 and free shipping! Gotta love the price.

front window

I’m into florals as you know and I am loving the freshness that it gives to my sitting room.

Chairs

Here you can see how the room is divided.

mantle

Because I don’t have a fireplace I made a makeshift mantle out of one of my vintage shelves and then stacked two trunks under it. I just had to have something to hang my Christmas stockings on.

The Saviorshelf of angels

The Cottage is ready for Easter and springtime. It sure brings a lovely beauty to my nest.

studio 2

Behind these doors is the wash room. I use it for storage for my crafting. Being that I had to sale my washer and dryer when I moved into my kids home five and a half years ago it is just more cost-effective to do my wash at their house. I think it’s called payback. lol

studio

This is my studio area. I have a wonderful antique table on lay away for the middle of the room. I need more room to be able to craft on so the table will be perfect. The little antique dresser will be getting a remodel as well, and curtains will be hung.  I will be using some really fun pastel colors in this room. When I get it finished I will be doing a post on it.

  1. I really like the sheer curtains over your bookcases, and now you’ve given me an idea for the bookcase in my studio. I could store all my fabric on the shelves and cover it with a pretty curtain. It would look so much better. Thanks, Jo! I love all those floral pillows. Luscious! xo

Ps-I am in the process of taking out my spring/summer décor and can’t wait to get out that wonderful memory pillow from you to place on my Victorian chair.
