Welcome everyone! I am most grateful to all of you for your support of my blog. It has been a fun road to travel. Meeting new blogging friends has been the best part. I have learned much through many of your blogs on home design and through that I have carved out my own design “Romantic Farmhouse”. For almost forty years I decorated my home in the primitive design. When my nest was empty I wanted my new nest to reflect me not the other five family members that lived with me at the time. Since I was single and ready for a change. I thought that I would show you my little nest through my years of blogging, which will be three years coming up in April. Wow, time goes by so fast! I will be celebrating that with a giveaway so make sure you stop by in April for the details.
Hello everyone, so glad that you have come to see what I’ve been up to since Christmas. I’ve updated every room in my home one way or another. After Christmas came down this year I was very excited to start some new projects. First was getting the door that I showed last week settled in his new place.
Sit right back and have a cup of hot chocolate, while you read.
The book case got the first update. I used most of my blue and white transfer ware on it. I like the blue back ground and this brought out the blues.
I added and old black and white that my Dad took of an cute old mule, he is now head of the book case.
More blue and white transfer ware with some cute little wooden hearts.
Ta Da! all done. As you can see I have moved the sofa around some, it’s really funny but it has become a rule with me that when I move something major like my door I have to make more major moves, but I was ready for a change.
I was really glad to change the mantle to something not so fluffy as the angel wings that I had on it for Christmas time. During the dark days of winter I use several small battery powered twinkle lights it gives a small home a little fun glow.
Here it is all done.
Here is the corner that the door was in. I put my big pink chair there. The fabric on the chair is starting to get thread barren so I’m thinking that I will to paint the fabric. If anyone has had experience with this please let me know how it turned out for you.
I took most of the pictures off of this wall. I want to add some architectural pieces to it but I just haven’t found the right pieces yet.
I had this old coyote collar and it makes for a fun vignette. These pages from an old book are a great display that I hand tore and wrapped some string around a glass vase. With a candle inside it really sparkles.
I want to close with my darling Nordic twins. They are Swedish and Danish. The twin on the left is my Grandmother.
I have more to share with you but I will save those for later. I hope that you enjoyed some of my changes and that it gave you a little inspiration to help you change yours.
Have a great day doing some creating!
Thank you dear friends!
