It is good to be back blogging. I have missed all of you! I hope that you are having an exciting summer full of fun-filled projects. I have been very busy with repainting furniture in Shabby Lane Cottage. When I moved in I decided not to redo anything until I really got a feel for the place. So last month I saw the big picture in my mind for how I wanted Shabby Lane Cottage to look, that’s when the chalk paint and brushes came out.
After living in basement apartments for over 8 years I just have to have light. I wanted to add some color but nothing overbearing and still keep a neutral pallet. So these lovely pastels turned out perfect. Light green, pink, pale yellow (this is a new color for me), light blue, Lavender, and glacier ice. I mixed all of the colors myself from Vintage Market and Design paints.
Source Check out the color pallets I have pinned on my Pintrest board. I just love these soft beautiful colors. I can move any of my furniture through out the house and they will match every room. That’s the great thing about having the same color pallet through out your house. Each room can have a different main color and it will still give the room indivuality.
The kitchen got a new table. I found this maple table at a charity shop for $15! It was so funny because I walked in the store and there it was waiting for me! I always say a little prayer before I go Junk’n and I always find what I want for a great price. I decided to add a little bit of yellow into the mix of things and I love it!
The studio before.
I moved my old table into the studio area and left the mint green on it. All of my chairs got fresh coats of pastel paint. Now my studio is just perfect! I have plenty of room for crafting, art, and sewing projects.
I have lots more going on around here. I will be showing those in future posts. Now that my internet problem is solved I will be back more often. Have a wonderful day!

These are definitely ‘happy’ colours – fabulous on even the dullest days (which we have been having a LOT of this spring/summer).

Jo, so glad you are back blogging! I am loving your new fun colors!! The yellow mixed in is wonderful. A lady came to one of my estate sales and bought vases in pink and yellow and said that she has a collection of them on a shelf. I bet it’s so darling! Thanks for sharing your new cottage with SYC. I will be featuring you tomorrow.

Awe, thank you Jann for the feature! I think the yellow in my Cottage comes from being in the dark for so long. The sunshine is great!
