Christmas Crafting

I thought that today I would share with you Christmas crafting ideas that have worked for me in the past to make my lovely Romantic Farmhouse Christmas shine.

A few years ago I challenged my shelf to make all of the ornaments for Christmas out of what I had at home. I saved cereal boxes and other cardboard for several months to make these great ornaments.  To see how to make them click here.

Every Christmas season I like to have on hand some small trinket to hand out to visitors or when you are in need of an extra gift for someone. I adore Victorian cones. Making them were really fun. I had lots of scrapbook paper and little extras to make them. Then I filled them with wrapped chocolates. My grands even took a filled cone to their school teachers. They were a big hit. I had always wanted to make a coffee filter wreath.  They work up very fast and have lovely results. In fact I sold this one in my little shop and it was one of the first items to go. Click here for the tutorial and more.Coffee embellish

This year for my decor I gave myself a huge challenge. Because my finances are at a stand still I have no extras for buying anything for my decor, but the good Lord gave me a gift to create so I am reworking all of my Christmas decor and have come up with a beautiful French Brocante Christmas.  I will be sharing it shortly after Thanksgiving.

Until then I will continue to share some of my past Christmas crafting.

Have a lovely weekend!

xx Jo

  1. Having a financial crunch means we just have to get creative. I’m working on that myself and trying very hard to make as many gifts as I can from my stash. I can’t do them all, but I’m making a good stab at it. Can’t wait to see what you create!

  2. Thanks for the inspiration once again! I love the vintage look of the wings and the tea-stained music page in the form of a star and the cones. The wreath made from coffee filters is amazing and I love the full look of it! I will have to click on that tutorial! Stay well and rest up for Thanksgiving!

  3. Good Sunday Morning Jo. I love homemade gifts the best. They are so special to give and receive. OMG the angel wings are soooooo sweet. You go girl with your crafty self.
Happy New Week Ahead. Hope you are doing well.

  4. Good morning, sweet friend! How are you? It feels like it’s been ages since I’ve “chatted” with you….I hope you are well.

Your creations are always lovely. I agree with Kris – homemade gifts are the BEST! Love the pearls and tulle with angel wings ornament….it’s stunning!

    Love and hugs to you!

  5. Jo, you have amazing talent and I always love what you create! Can’t wait to see what you do this year. I am getting ready to make the button for Creating Christmas. Wondering if you’re up to participating this year, or you need to pass. I’m switching things up a little. I’ll tell you more if you decide to join. It’s the 2nd week of Dec. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
