Hello dear friends! I have brought Fall into my little nest a little early. Fall is my favorite time of year. It’s like a breath of fresh fair every day. My favorite is a very blue sky with lovely autumn colors on the mountains. I also will be taking a break through the month of September. On the 7th of September I will be having a knee replacement. I’m pretty sure that I won’t be doing a lot of projects to share for a while.
I went junk’n today and found a wonderful travel trunk that I will be adding to my nest. It’s from the late 1800’s. It is big enough to stash my two little grand daughter’s in, its that big. I will be painting it, it has a putrid green color on it so if you have any ideas what color to paint it let me know. I will be showing a picture of it next post for it’s in my son’s Tahoe waiting for him to haul it into my home when he gets home. It weighs close to 80 pounds.
Last time I shared the new pumpkins that I added to my pumpkin patch so this time I will show you how I used them in vignettes and a dream catcher that I made for the window right above my bed.
Because my bedroom is so dark my pictures just don’t turn out like I would like them to. But this gives you some kind of idea how the dream catcher turned out. Here is how I made it.
This little project didn’t cost a penny. I used a purple embroidery ring and wrapped it with white scraps from an old sheet. Then I had this blue doily that fit the ring perfect and used hot glue to attach it.
Then I strung some beads of yarn in different lengths. I hung crinkly ribbon on the circle and glued a white feather at each end.
I even attached a crystal for good mental health. Some days I can use all I can get. lol
The dreamcatcher is catching those bad dreams just like I thought it would, see there are 3 little bads dreams up there already. lol
Starting at my bedside I put a lacy pumpkin to add to the Fall charm. I used soft whites and blues in my room for Fall this year along with a touch of pink.
Using soft stripes and florals adds a lot of lovely contrast. The quilt on the edge of the bed and the pillow shams are by Simply Shabby Chic.
More soft fluffy pumpkins adorn my dresser with just a touch of autumn leaves and pinecones.
On one of the shelves in my bedroom I put some of my keepsakes. The little wooden sailor boy was just sent to me by my son and his family who live on an US Naval Base in Japan. It matches perfect with my decor.
Until next time!
Have a wonderful week!
