There’s A Winner!

Welcome! To Anne’s Attic – design today! There is indeed a winner for the 2nd annual anniversary give away!

Thank you so much for all of you how have joined in for my 2nd annual anniversary giveaway!  To all of you who are brand new and in between, and  to you that have followed me for the last two years I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for without you there would not be a reason to be blogging! I am so excited to announce the winner but first I just have to show you the lovely spring flowers that have been growing in my tiny garden as well as over the back fence.

2nd grape

When we first moved into this home 3 1/2 years ago the only thing that was growing in the flower beds were grape hyacinths and tiny violets. They were growing in the lawn as well. (our landlord does not allow trees and the yard was new even though the home was built in 1960. He said that we could plant flowers and bushes) I have a lovely rose garden that is just waking up after it’s long winters nap.  In the springtime the beds are filled with this purple flowers, they are so lovely we surely do not have a shortage of them.  Adding a Ball jar and a bit of ticking makes a lovely simple bouquet for my little nests kitchen.

2nd lilac 1.jpg

First of all I want you to know that I am not stealing the lilacs. lol  These gorgeous lilacs grow over our back fence of a sweet older lady’s home, she is 95 and still gardenin! With her permission I cut some each year, they bring an amazing fragrance into my home as well as the lovely lacey beauty and color. In the house that I raised my children in we had a wonderful front porch and I planted a small lilac bush that grew and grew and grew until it was knocked down by the ice cream man. That is another story. lol  We would sit on the front porch in April through May and enjoy the beautiful fragrance of this amazing bush. To this day my boys will smile and say that the lilacs takes them back to our front porch years ago. It’s such a lovely memory for them.

2nd white

I sprinkle bouquets through out my little nest. Turely when smelling these lovely lilacs I feel serene and tranquil. I need them most in the  Here a bouquet sits next to my big pink chair on the old meat safe turned end table. I do a lot of computer work and reading there.

2nd lilac

Here a bouquet sits right next to my bed on an old butlers tray.  Oh, it’s so amazing. I really wish that someone could bottle the true fragrance. I noticed that the white ones have a little different fragrance than the purple ones. I have never noticed it before. But all the same the fragrance is amazing. It has to be my favorite flower,  I just wish that they bloomed all summer. Ahh . . .

2nd pillow front

Now, for the 2nd Anniversary giveaway!  Just to let you know that I would give you all one of these pillows if I could. I want to give a special thank you to all of you who have supported me through the last two years and to those who are brand new and in between, I value each and every follower.  I have made some amazing precious friends from blogging.  There are two special ladies with blogs that I am sure that you are familiar with and if you are not you are missing out (check them out), I reached out to them and they did me a very special favor of following my blogg when no else was following and gave me ideas on how to get my blog out there to you. Thank you Kris from Junk Chic Cottage, and Shirley from Housepitality Designs!

I have made friendships with bloggers and followers that have helped me through many tough times. Friends that have shown me how to blog as well as how to decorate my home.  All in all blogging has been a very positive venture in my life. I started blogging because I needed an outlet for my interior design and found so much more!

  1. Woohoo! I do not think I have ever won anything until now—thank you so much!! Your keepsake pillow is so precious, and I have just gotten around to putting my white duck slipcover over my dark green couch, spring curtains up, and field of flowers glicee over my couch this past weekend to brighten things up. I was thinking I could use a new pillow with flowers on my sofa after I put the slipcover on it, so this is great. What makes it most valuable is that it comes handmade from you; you’ve been a real inspiration to me in so many ways, and I am hoping to get to some of my journal craft ideas this summer. If I ever update my old flip-phone, I will have to send you some pics. Thanks so much-you made my day!!!!!! Keep blogging on……..

    • Hi Kris, enjoying the sweetness of making people is what makes my day. Thank you for your sweet comment and for visiting. I can’t wait to see what is going on in your creative mind in the months ahead. I am so happy for you. Give Copper a hug for me. You are so dear, that is why he was sent to your home to be comforted in his great time of need. I think that dogs have a 6th sense. Have a lovely weekend. xx Jo

  3. Congratulations to the lovely winner! I can almost smell those lovely lilacs from here, but I’m afraid I don’t dare have them in my house (much as I adore the scent). Alas, they don’t react well with my allergies.

  4. So I’m not the only one who steals lilac? Yay, that makes me feel so much better. And I also wish they were a blooming bush all year. I can’t get enough of walking, sitting and just breathing the air outside right now. Best time of year. And your arrangements are beyond lovely.

  5. Congratulations Anne. I know the feeling —how fast time flies when you are having fun. Your pillows are gorgeous. I keep collecting in hopes of getting to do some vintage fabric items. Hope you have many more blog posts to come, Sanid
