Shabby Chic

I am a lover of anything Shabby Chic. Mixing a little farmhouse design in completes my Romantic Farmhouse look. The Romantic look is a life style for me, whether it be my home, clothing even gardening. It is a wonderful soft comfortable look that I adore.

I tried to think of one word that made up the Shabby Chic life style but to many words came into my mind, like . . .

Rusty, chippy paint, pearls, burlap, flowers, miss matched china, Ball jars, tarnished candle sticks, religious relics, velvet’s, a little Boho, crowns, sheep skin rugs, and many more that I am sure you can add to the list.

Shabby Chic calls for lovely soft colors. White, pale pinks, blues, greens, and touches of gold are the colors that I enjoy in my nest.

Home made items and lovely twinkle lights add a bit of sparkle.

New mantle violin

Soft natural colors add to the look as well.

Lace and vintage wallpaper with an old farm tote are just a few of the items that makes Shabby Chic life style complete.

I found this very worn bridal crown that added charm and a little sparkle to a shabby vignette.

shabby

Searching Etsy I came across these very worn and shabby pink ballet shoes on for ten bucks! What a bargain! They add charm and style to my shabby decor.

The items in my shop are all shabby items. I made this lovely ruffled bag from scrapes that I had in my fabric pile. I will sale these bags for $40 in my shop. Each one will be different. (If you are interested just leave me a message and I will design one for you!)

I will be making shabby aprons and Rococo scarfs for you or your dress form. I will be sharing them at the end of the week.

shabby shoes

Each apron and bag will be shabby, washable and one of a kind.

On April 23, 2016 I will be celebrating my second year of blogging. I am a pretty new blogger compared to many of you who have been blogger for much longer. I will be offering a hand made item in a give a way to honor my second year! More info at the end on the week about the drawing.

Have an amazing weekend!

  1. I love the shabby chic look, but my husband practically gags at the thought, so obviously there won’t be much of it happening in our abode. Never mind – I get my ‘fix’ by coming and visiting with you! Your bag looks absolutely amazing and so much fun!

  2. I love the worn ballet slippers and ruffled bags; for me, part of the romanticism of shabby items like the slippers is imagining who wore them and the hours of practice and performing that wore them out. Hope you had a joyful Easter! I stayed home and watched TCM movies all day while I cooked (wearing my shabby chic apron): The Singing Nun, Miracle at Fatima, A Nun’s Story and Barabbas-a perfect Easter Sunday, I’d say!

  3. Your “reticule” is so shabby chic, it’s very lovely and so old fashioned, love it. Everything you featured in your photos is so well done and your merchandise is so pretty. Not always my style but certainly enjoy seeing how a shabby chic style can be lived. You are very talented, was especially inspired. Have lovely weekend
