You probably think that it takes me for ever to complete a project, and some times it really feels like it to me. Back in June I posted about refinishing the headboard in my bedroom, and I ask for help with giving me ideas on what kind of bedding would look best on it.
I had so many wonderful comments and I thank all of you for your help. It was taken me a while to decide just what bedding I really wanted and I had to weigh all sorts of reasons why I couldn’t have the lacy one that I thought I wanted. So here is what I came up with as well as some other new changes in the room. Click here to see the first post.
My biggest concern was having a spread that was not my life style. I have four little grands that jump in bed with me every night to read stories so I wanted something that we all could snuggle down into and me not worrying whether something was going to tear or get ruined. So I found two quilted bed sets on eBay. All the bedding plus the bed skirt was under $100.00, with free shipping. My kind of buy. Can’t beat that! I wanted to put blue’s and all shades of white into the room. I have had pink and reds for a very long time and I was ready for a change.
I love the cream and whites together. I think it really complements the headboard. Nothing more timeless than a classic white quilt.
I needed something architectural in the room so I painted up these old louvered doors with my distressing process. If you missed the post click here.
I also brought in some pieces of my blue and white transfer ware. I think that they blend perfectly in this blue and white room. I am going to be adding some vintage reds and pinks into the room. But it will take some time to find the perfect tattered, chippy, faded pieces that I love. Always something to collect.
Then I came across these great stained glass windows at my favorite junk’n shop and I knew right where they were going to go. So the shelf got a color change to.
Now my little dressers new coat of paint fits in well with rest of the room.
Please PIN the above collage if you like what you saw.
Well, that’s it for today. Enjoy your weekend!
Hugs, Jo

Jo I love the peacefulness of the Blues, Whites and Creams. Makes you just want to jump in and nest in that bed … Which I’m sure the Grands feel the same. Your stained glass window is a stunning find and adds much beauty in your room.
Sleep well.

Jo, what a lovely bedroom or better yet, your sanctuary you’ve created. But I must say, with a bit of envy, the best part is knowing those 4 little grands slip in for story time. You did a magical job of making it elegant and yet still user friendly.
