Where Jo Creates

Welcome to Anne’s Attic – design. I am at over at My Desert Cottage today. Karen is doing a post on Where Bloggers Create today. So after you see my post click on over to Karen’s blog and check out the many wonder rooms where other bloggers hatch their ideas.

Now, this is the first time in my adult life that I don’t actually have a specified room where I make all of my pretties. But for now this does me just fine. Those of you who have been following me for a while understand that I live in a basement apartment, my Son and his family live above me. Being that I tend their children full-time this arrangement works out perfect for us. Though some day I will have a home and a room to call my own that I can shut the door when I am in the middle of something.

Where I create wholeHere is my sweet work bench that gets a lot of abuse! Behind the curtain I have lots of storage. Drawers for supplies, and on each end of the bench are book shelves. Lots of places to put things and out of sight, especially to little hands that love to get into my things. I did a post a while ago on how I made my work bench so if you are interested you can click here to see that.

Where I create

I love this table top (which is a hollow core door wrapped in vinyl) because it is big and roomy.  I wrap boxes in fabric to keep some of my supplies in. An old cowboy boot top of my Dad’s holds scissors and other things that I use. Small zinc buckets are there to keep items handy while working.

Where I create frontal face

This is where I write most of my posts for my blog with my little turquoise lap top. I even have covered the note books that I use in matching fabric.

Where I create maddona

This beautiful picture of The Madonna and the Christ Child was my Mother’s Day gift. I collect  Madonna’s, she is so representative to me of Womanhood. She is a constant reminder and example for me.

Where I create angel

I am almost sure that in a few weeks my work bench decor will have changed. Everything in my home just evolves, depending on what projects I have going on.

Where I create Collage

Not much to my little space where I create but I love it. By the way it is not always this clean, I always have a couple of projects scattered about on it. That’s what it is for, right?

I invite all of you to follow my blog by email! The more the merrier!

Pop on over to Karen’s and enjoy!

  5. I am amazed by the amount of storage you have in your lovely space after I visited your post about your workbench-you took a small space and made it very efficient indeed! I love the Madonna plaque!

  6. You’ve got a great space! Where its situated almost makes it seem like its a separate space. I got kicked out of my old craft room by hubs and just starting to make another bedroom mine craft space and guest room. You always make everything look so wonderful1

  7. Your space is so very pretty Anne! There are so many special touches…the cute little buckets, the fabric covered items, the lovely Madonna plaque, everything is perfect!

  8. What a fantastic area you have created in the space you have, you are an inspiration to so many of us who have lived without a craft room, working on our beds, kitchen tables, etc. . . the important thing is do it, not where we do it! Good for you for continuing to feed your soul while helping your family at this time. What a beautiful example you are to those grandkids about taking care of yourself and giving to others!

    Much love,

  9. I love your creative space my friend, and I swooned a little over your angel wings♥. Every time I look at my pretty pillow ( I keep it in my art room) I smile big knowing you made it for me. Biggest hugs!

  10. I realize I’m late visiting, but I couldn’t miss this opportunity to see your beautiful and creative work space. The details are so unique, including your father’s old boot. I also have a hollow core door that I use to hold my sewing machine and such. They are quite handy, but I never thought to cover mine.

You have such a lovely space, even if it’s temporary. And I can tell how much you like turquoise! Thanks for sharing your lovely space.

  11. You sure have created a cozy and organized space. Love the idea of having a curtain to cover up the projects. Thanks so much for sharing your creative space at VIPary.
