My Favorite Color is BLUE

Welcome dear blogging friends. For the next few posts I will be taking you back to some of my older posts and show you just how much my little nest has evolved over my first year of blogging.

My favorite color is BLUE, I like all the shades of blue from  Aqua, to Turquoise. They are all beautiful soft colors that I feel very comfortable with. Because of that I use these colors in my home and I also wear a lot of blue.

Here are some peeks of blue that I have used in my little nest.

Lovely blue pillow covers.

Blue Ball jars.

Even a blue medallion on Kaun Yin. I love decorating with blue Ball jars.

Old blue chest and accessories

Oh I love it when the sun shines through the window and lights up the blue jars. It’s so pretty and sparkles all over the kitchen.

Peter's bowl

Lovely vintage plate that was my great grandmother’s with blue flowers.

Dad's table

Even a blue Madonna.

I remember the winter that my Mom made this beautiful blue and white cross stitch quilt.  I’m so glad that she decided to give it to me. I really cherish it.

I painted some old books in different blue colors, I use them to give color to vignettes.

  1. Hi Jo,
I love all your touches of blue. I love my win from you with the christmas pillows and runner too.
Love those blue mason jars lined up with the rose in each one. So pretty.

  2. As a little girl growing up in Brooklyn, I used to look forward long weekend walks to the Brooklyn Museum with my dad that housed a large Egyptian collection mainly because I was enthralled by the Egyptian Blue that I now know is a synthetic blue made of silica, lime, copper and alkali. I marveled at the Egyptian pottery and jewelry that glowed ablaze with this fabulous blue glaze, a blue I never had seen before that, as ancient as it was, was still so vibrant, it seemed to be breathing. Ever since, I have been a fan of blue! There is something homey but yet majestic about the various hues of blue, from the soft aquas to the dark royal blues. I love all your uses of blue, especially the light feathery blue wreath with the little deer prancing in its center!

  3. Turqouise has to be my favorite shade of blue and I love it paired with brown! Love all the creative ways you have incorporated blue into your decor, you are very talented! Enjoyed the *blue* tour 🙂
