A New Life for An Old Birdhouse

Welcome my dear blogging friends! I had a neighbor come over the other day and said that he was going to take a lot of things to Goodwill, he had just helped his parents move and they had a lot of things that they didn’t want. YES! I love picking through other people’s junk! Sure enough I found several great finds.

They had this great wooden bird house.  I just could not past this by and I had been wanting one for a while now, I just knew this was to come to my house. It just needed some tender loving care and I was ready to give it.

Here she is all pretty and ready for Easter. I painted her white and aqua, then added some moss, grass, and flowers. I already had these darling Easter eggs and nest with the bird (and know the bird didn’t lay those eggs, I think that if she did it would have been a miracle lol). I love the wire screen on the doors and I added a little lace and fabric.

My sweet blogging friend Heather sent me this darling quilt block, she embroidered a beautiful bird on it and it flew here clear from New York City! Thanks sweet Heather I love it and you did a beautiful job!  Such a fun surprise when I got the mail that day.

I didn’t spend a penny fixing up this little bird house I had everything around the house. I knew that it would be perfect on my hutch. I really love the way it turned out. I’ll be sharing some more of my finds a little later.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

  1. I love it! It’s so perfect in those colors. Love the wire on the doors, and the way you’ve got it all dressed up for Easter. Wonderful, Jo! It looks perfect on your hutch. xo ~ Nancy

  2. Love the colors Jo that you used. So pretty and for free gotta love that. Hey girl I sent you an email not sure you got it. You might want to see my post from today on my blog 🙂

  3. Hi Jo … This is my first visit here. I so enjoyed all that you shared over at Nancy’s. You have such a sweet and charming little home. Your little spring birdhouse is precious. I look forward to browsing your past postings. Warmest Hugs ♥ Teri

  4. Really sweet Jo. Love how you put the relaxed grapevine piece on the top. Trying to think if I have a little cabinet I could style like that. The rate I am going, Easter will be over before I get my decorations up.
